Rakè-lisî Bî

Rakè-lisî Bî (/ˈrakè/ /ˈlisɪ/ [mobile; portable] [average]) is a subtropical Town located in the Mèrevaqêyê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Rakè-lisî Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Rakè-lisî Bî was founded by Ktilèb Brënmê, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Rakè-lisî Bî has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Rakè-lisî Bî receives an average of 279 cm/y (109 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Rakè-lisî Bî covers an area of nearly 4 km² (1 mi²), and an average elevation of 1164 m (3818 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Rakè-lisî Bî was founded durring the late 13th century in spring of the year 1160, by Ktilèb Brënmê. The establishment of Rakè-lisî Bî was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Ktilèb Brënmê electing to pay people to resettle in Rakè-lisî Bî.

Rakè-lisî Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Rakè-lisî Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Rakè-lisî Bî is was constructed arround several crampt cobblestone mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.

Rakè-lisî Bî is a bustling hive of activity. Everyone moves at nothing short of a jog, each convocation is a mile a minute, and there’s dedicated lanes for riding through town in the center of each street. The locals all appear to be not merely occupied, but in a true hurry for everything from drinking a pint of ale to their daily work.

Civic Infrastructure

Rakè-lisî Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Rakè-lisî Bî.

Rakè-lisî Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Rakè-lisî Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Rakè-lisî Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Rakè-lisî Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Rakè-lisî Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Rakè-lisî Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Life is hard in Rakè-lisî Bî. Its people are impoverished compared to their peers elsewhere. Something is making the locals stay, however, whether fear of the alternative, hope for a better future, or a stubborn attachment to their ancestral lands. Whatver the reason, living in this harsh area for generations has made the people of Rakè-lisî Bî a notably resourceful and hearty people.

Rakè-lisî Bî's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is based upon new and innovative technologies of construction and the idea that form should follow function. It was an embrace of minimalism and a rejection of ornament. The style became characterized by an emphasis on volume, asymmetrical compositions, and minimal ornamentation..
